So who is Landscape Safari Man.... really? My name is Justin Newcombe and I have been a professional Landscape Designer and builder of gardens for the past 15 years. Our projects include everything from pools to schools, large scale commercial projects as well as small residential makeovers.
I was brought up in small country communities and have always had a keen interest in horticulture. Although I studied horticulture at high school my interest in painting drew me into a Visual Arts Degree which I completed a in the early 1990's
It was the mixture of horticulture and art that instantly attracted me to landscaping and still dominates my work today.
I have been lucky enough to have various media roles including the Presenter and Designer for the popular Ground Force television series, a stint writing for the New Zealand Gardener as well as presenting the Saturday Garden Show on Radio Live. I am currently working as a presenter on a television series called Use as Directed, as well as being the "Garden Guru" for Television One's Breakfast programme.
I started Landscape Safari Ltd ten years ago and developed our unique mobile design service, saving time and money for many, many clients .This has contributed to a growing client base numbering in the thousands and has given me a huge pool of experience and knowledge.
In 2008 I travelled to Nepal to build a palliative care garden at a cancer hospital just outside Kathmandu. This experience has inspired me to study Permaculture Design and develop gardens which have a strong urban ecology component.
My focus is now devoted to producing beautiful, practical, environments for my clients and community ( and to have some fun doing it ).
